Went on a buying spree this morning!
First, the Disney project:
Belle (Me)
It’s coming along. My mom’s ballroom hoopskirt is perfect for it. I got my yellow-gold material for the dress – it’s exactly what I wanted from a few months ago. At first I couldn’t find out and was bummed because I didn’t like anything else at the store. Then my mum found a roll of it on the discount table! I needed ten yards – there was 11 on the roll, so I got it all. I also got some sparkley organza for the overlays. I ordered some yellow satin online for the bodice – I hope it looks OK. Last time I ordered something yellow from that place it ended up being more neon than I wanted :\ My local stores don’t have ANYTHING yellow, I swear… it’s like it’s not in this season or something. I ordered gloves… I need to find shoes. I’ve decided to try and use my own hair… ugh 😛
Snow White (Melissa)
I’ve got to go through my material and see if I have enough of my blue Arwen velvet leftover to make the bodice – I hope I do, that would be great. I’m using the same satin I ordered for Belle’s bodice for the skirt – if it’s too bright for Belle, it’ll be ok for Snow White, so the order won’t have been a waste. I have enough leftover material for the sleeves, so I don’t have to buy anything new! The only thing that’s stumping me here is that collar… I’ve got to figure out how to do but still have the closure in the back… I’ve got to find shoes for her, too. I bought a wig – a black Marilyn Monroe wig. Should work.
Cinderella (Cath)
I had to wait on Cath to say for sure she was going before I bought anything. I found fabric I LOVE for this costume… a very pretty pale, but not baby blue satin, and some nice sparkley silver (smokey) organza for the silver parts (both Belle and Cinderella I’m basing more on the ice skating dresses than the real thing, so lots of sparklies and rhinestones and things! 🙂 I bought some gloves, and a wig I need to butcher… also clear shoes! Since Cath canNOT walk in heels, we decided she would carry one of the shoes, and wear something different underneath, so she won’t trip (hopefully). I’d been trying to think of something for her to carry, since I’m carrying the rose and Melissa is carrying the apple… so that will work.
Ash’s Costume
Which, once again, I’m trying to keep secret and not doing a very good job of it so far. But, I think I’ve collected enough material to start on it. I’ve been collecting for MONTHS! I also found some fabric I like. I need to see if Ash is going to buy it, or if I am… I owe her $$ from Comic Con, so I may buy it to pay her back. (The hotel charged her more than me, which they weren’t supposed to do)
Non girlie project costumes…
Leia
I bought some pants, I hope I like the colour! I have boots, and I bought a shirt to alter. I need to find fabric I like for the vest… :\ Haven’t found a thing yet.
Polychrome
If I get everything done in time I’m still doing Polychrome… heck, I may go ahead and do it as a stress reliever from Ash’s costume, since it will be easy. It’s basically the same as my Ozma dress, just without the white dress on the outside!
And then, I need to finish the stuff on Starfire (collar, armbands) and Slave Leia (boot tops, skirt)…
So my costume is this, so far:

And then, Ash’s costume and her X-Wing pilot…
Cath is going to wear my Senator Leia in the parade, and then her Cinderella, of course… I thought about taking the basic white Eowyn dress and letting her wear that to Bree.
Melissa is borrowing Arwen Chase, my Imperial Officer, my old Hermione and Anna, and then her Snow White.
Dog we’re going to have fun!! Got a lot to do though…
